Laura's Broken Arm

Leave it to my graceful girl to have fallen off of her newly installed monkey bars in the backyard and break her arm. This happened Saturday night. I didn't take her to the doctor until Monday afternoon. At first we passed it off as Laura's typical melodrama. By Monday morning, we figured it maybe was a sprain. After much arguing with Greg (he swore all she needed was to wrap it in an Ace bandage) I finally made her an appt with the pediatrician who sent us for x-rays right away. We were immediately referred to an orthopedist. I did feel bad for not believing she was hurt as badly as she was, but even the pediatrician said that they would not have fitted her in a cast for 24 - 48 hours anyway. Also, it was hard for us to have known since she was able to move her hand and wrist so well.

Her cast is purple with hearts and best of all it's waterproof, so at least she can still go swimming!
